Used all-in-one PCs in Pakistan

Buying all-in-one pcs second-hand

An all-in-one couples the display to the machine, so any fault in either one affects the whole purchase. Check the panel exactly as you would a standalone monitor — full-screen white and black for dead pixels and backlight bleed — and check the computer exactly as you would a small desktop. A perfect machine behind a failing panel is not a bargain.

Serviceability is usually poor. Opening an all-in-one to replace a drive or add memory often means removing the screen, which is a job people damage panels doing, and parts are typically model-specific. Establish what is upgradeable and what a repair would involve before you commit.

What to check before you pay

  • Inspect the panel on full-screen white and black for dead pixels and bleed.
  • Confirm what can be opened and upgraded without removing the display.
  • Test the built-in webcam, microphone and speakers.
  • Run under sustained load and check for throttling and fan noise.
