the questions, answered straight.
How buying, selling, storefronts and accounts actually work here, including the parts we don't cover. Those are the ones worth reading.
01Buying
Does Dopamine Club sell the hardware itself?
No. Dopamine Club is a venue. We host the listings and the search; the sale itself happens directly between you and the seller. We never take possession of items, process payments, hold funds in escrow or arrange delivery.
How do I pay, and is my money protected?
You and the seller agree the payment method between yourselves, off the platform. There is no escrow and no buyer protection. If you pay in advance and the seller disappears, we can't reverse it.
Meet in a public place and test the part before money moves. Be wary of anyone pushing you to pay a deposit to “hold” an item, or to move the conversation to another app straight away.
How do I find what I want?
Search from the home page, or open the marketplaceand filter by category, price, brand, condition and city. Save anything you're still thinking about to Saved so you can compare later.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Browsing and searching are open to everyone. You need an account, with a verified email, to contact a seller, save listings, post an ad or open a store.
What if a listing is a scam or the item is not as described?
Report it from the listing or the seller's profile. Reports land in a queue a human reviews, and we can take the listing down and act on the account. What we can't do is recover your money. If a payment has already gone through, take that to your bank or the police as well. See Contact us.
02Selling
What does it cost to sell?
Nothing. Posting ads, browsing and opening a store are free today. Paid services like inspection and concierge selling get announced as they launch, with the price shown before you commit. And if we ever start charging for something that's free now, you'll hear it from us first.
How do I post an ad?
Post an ad— five fields and three photos, live in about a minute. You'll need a verified email address first; the link goes out when you sign up.
Does my ad have to be approved before it goes live?
No, ads publish immediately. Moderation happens after the fact: if a listing gets reported or flagged, a human reviews it and can take it down with a reason.
How do I edit, pause or delete a listing?
All of it lives in My ads — edit the details, mark it sold, or delete it outright.
Is there a limit on how much I can list?
One item per listing, and no reposting the same item to push it back up the feed. Beyond that, list what you have. If you're moving real volume, a dealer storefront is the right home for it.
03Dealers and stores
What is a dealer storefront?
A public page for a shop: your inventory in one place, plus hours, location and ratings. It comes with bulk listing uploads and its own URL you can hand out. Apply from Open a store.
What happens to my existing ads when I open a store?
They move to the storefront, and your personal profile redirects there. It's a one-time migration when the store is created. Nothing is lost; it just lives under the shop from then on.
What does the verified dealer badge mean?
That a person on our side actually checked the shop. You request verification from your storefront and submit evidence, the request goes into a review queue, and a reviewer either approves it (which sets the badge) or rejects it with a written reason.
A rejected store keeps everything and shows you the reason, so you can fix it and request again. Bear in mind the badge is about the seller being who they claim to be. It says nothing about any individual item.
Is individual hardware inspected or benchmarked?
Not yet. First-party inspection is being built and sits on the public roadmap: bench and thermal reports, component-level identification, and a published report attached to the unit. Until it ships, treat condition and specs as the seller's claim, and test the item yourself before you pay.
04Accounts and safety
Why do I have to verify my email?
Because posting, opening a store and messaging sellers are the things scammers abuse, and a verified address makes throwaway accounts more expensive. Browsing needs nothing. Signing up logs you straight in, and the verification link follows by email.
How do I keep my account secure?
Turn on two-factor authentication in Settings, use a password you haven't reused elsewhere, and sign out everywhere if you suspect someone else has been in. Passwords are stored hashed and sessions use HttpOnly cookies, and changing your password invalidates any token issued earlier.
What is the difference between deactivating and deleting?
Deactivate is reversible: your profile, storefront and listings come out of public view, and logging back in restores all of it exactly as it was.
Deleteisn't. Your personal details are scrubbed, your name becomes “Deleted user”, and your ads, storefront and reviews are hidden for good. Both live in Settings.
Can I change my username?
Yes, it's editable in Settingsas long as the new one isn't taken. It drives your public profile URL and the @handleshown on your listings, so old links to your profile stop working once you change it.
What data do you hold, and can I get it back?
What we collect and why is set out in the Privacy Policy. You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion. Email us and we respond within 30 days, once we've confirmed you are who you say you are.
