Cases in Karachi
Buying cases second-hand
A case is mostly a question of measurements. Graphics cards have grown considerably in recent generations and a case that comfortably held a card five years ago may not close on a current one; tower air coolers have the same problem in the other dimension. Get the case's stated maximum GPU length and cooler height and check both against your parts before agreeing a price.
Physically, the things that go wrong are cosmetic but annoying: cracked plastic around the front panel clips, a bent motherboard tray, missing screws and standoffs, and dead front-panel USB ports. Ask for the accessory box. A case sold without its screws will cost you an irritating afternoon.
What to check before you pay
- Compare maximum GPU length and CPU cooler height against your actual parts.
- Test the front-panel USB ports and audio jack — these fail more often than anything else.
- Confirm the screws, standoffs and accessory box are included.
- Check for cracked clips and a straight motherboard tray.
